The Turkish Embassy in China said on social media that Türkiye Telecom (T ü rk Telekom) signed a memorandum of understanding with Huawei to jointly develop the fifth generation technical standard (5G) of Türkiye's broadband cellular network.

Omar Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, said that Huawei has made important contributions to Türkiye's infrastructure construction over the past 20 years. We hope that these contributions can continue in domestic and local production. Huawei has one of its 19 R&D centers in the world in Türkiye, where they employ more than 750 engineers.

5G solutions are particularly needed in the fields of transportation, health, education, agriculture, entertainment, and urbanization. Since Huawei entered the Türkiye market, Türkiye Telecom has been Huawei's strategic partner。

According to the memorandum, as part of 5G cooperation, Huawei and Türkiye Telecom initially focused on intelligent agricultural applications and games. In addition, in the past few years, some technology companies have invested in Türkiye, making contributions to the country's economy and creating new jobs.

As the world's largest communication equipment manufacturer, Huawei has served billions of people worldwide. At the arrival of 5G, Huawei has led the way and achieved frequent results in 5G construction, becoming a global leader in 5G construction. In addition, with the beginning of 2019, Huawei and Türkiye have signed large orders to build the world's largest "network".

Turkcell, the largest operator of Erqi, has chosen Huawei to jointly build a fully cloud based core network project for 5G evolution. This project will become the world's largest cloud based EPC network and the core network of 5G evolution key technologies such as cloud based network, CUPS, and grayscale upgrade for the first time in the world. Huawei will provide a fully cloud based core network solution for 5G, helping Turkcell achieve its group strategy of network cloud transformation and smooth evolution of 5G.

Previously, Huawei classified the global 5G market, with the first category being markets with high demand for 5G, such as China, Japan, South Korea, and Gulf countries. The second category is some developed countries in Europe and America, including the United States. The demand for 5G is not yet as strong. The third category, developing countries, has no demand at all.
